Donald Denney McKendry was born on June 3, 1958, to Judith Whiteis and Andrew McKendry. He grew up alongside his sisters, Shannon Debus and Joani Purdy (Barry Purdy), spending time in Arizona, Greeley, Gunnison, and Arvada, Colorado.
