A proud Vietnam Veteran, Don answered the call to serve his country with honor and courage. His love for the land he defended never waned; after his military service, he earned his Commercial Driver’s License and spent many years as a truck driver. From behind the wheel of his rig, Don found joy in exploring the vast landscapes of America—soaking in its natural beauty mile by mile.
Don was not only a man of the road but also a man of faith. He held a ministry license and was often called upon to deliver eulogies for close friends who passed before him. His words brought comfort and peace to many during times of sorrow—a testament to his gentle spirit and unwavering compassion.
Family was at the heart of Don’s world. He is survived by his son Arlington; daughters Katherine, Samantha, Stephanie, and Kathy; thirteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. His love for them was evident in every moment he spent with them—whether sharing stories, casting lines on fishing trips, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
Don had an infectious sense of humor and a gift for making people laugh. His warmth drew others in, and his kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew him. Whether through friendship or ministry, Don touched countless lives with his caring nature.
He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a devoted friend, a faithful servant of God, and a man who lived life with purpose and heart.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness in others.
