We'll always remember Don's commitment to sharing Christ's love with his family, friends, and the world. He will ever inspire.
Much love,
Melinda & Rick Tyler
It was my first year in the USA. I was an 8th grader and was barely able to understand or speak english. Don was the principle of BCS junior high school. I didn’t have many friends then and was quite home sick. I remember one Saturday morning when I got a call from him. He invited me to watch baseball with his family. (Tad and Sai) It was a nice surprise and I was excited for this new experience. An hour later, he picked me up and we were off to the game. I still remember that particular game. Seattle vs Tampa Bay. He bought us hot dogs with onions. It was my first experience watching any life game. Although Seattle lost 2-1, I’m always fond of this memory and his kindness resonated to me. I felt this experience really highlights the kind of person Don is. He was kind and thoughtful. He often asked me how I am throughout my time in BCS. Through my experience there, he taught me kindness is good and kindness is easy. But kindness is impactful. Thank you for being kind to me. What you and your family has done for me has been a blessing to me. Rest in peace.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending lots of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dear Family,

So sorry for you all as you grieve.  Don was full of the joy of life and I am grateful for the time we worked together at Bellevue Christian School.  He was a Christian gentleman who served with passion and commitment.  May you lean into the love of Jesus and the comfort of the Holy Spirit as you suffer your loss.

I have such wonderful memories of our time with you and Don. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Losing you was beyond devastating. The call from Kathy was the worst news I ever received. Thank you for being such a wonderful brother. It’s difficult to accept you’re no longer here. You were the BEST brother anyone could have ever had. I thank God I was able to spend time with your three sons and their family over Christmas, your favorite holiday. Thank you for not leaving us without comfort. Our bond remains unbreakable even beyond death. You were the gem of our family. The memory of you will never fade, Don. I’ll keep your memories closer to my heart so I can move on. I’m still hoping you will call me, and this is a bad dream. My heart aches to know that you’re no longer here. You inspired me so much. Losing you is like losing the light in my life. I wish you didn’t go, Don. There are days when I don’t feel strong. Yet I know you are walking with angels, and that gives me a little comfort. Though your presence leaves a void, I’m comforted by the thoughts that you’re reaping the fruits of your labor. Enjoy eternity, brother. I love you deeply and miss you every day.

Your Sister, Sheryl

Dan and I value the friendship we have had with you and Don from LaGrande to the present. The memories of Sunday dinners at our house when you traveled to LG for church.
The most precious of memories was our 2 months with you in Chaing Mai.
It was a privilege to live with you during that time and learn so much about Thailand and your faith and commitment to our Lord and Savior.
We so wanted to visit both of you in Bellingham, but never made it. A summer trip will be planned to visit you and we rejoice that there will be a glorious and joyous reunion one day with Don at home with God!
We love you and are praying for you and your children and grandchildren.
