The family of Donald “Smokey“ Charles Sr., 55, regret to announce that he peacefully passed away on June 25, 2022 after a decade long battle with Lymphoma.

After his service in the US Army, Donald Served with the Port Authority Fire Department and the USVI Fire Service where he ascended to the position of  Assistant Director before his retirement.   Don also served as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity USVI and in 2009,  founded the Cabinet Depot VI .

Donald Sr. was married to wife Kellie Charles for 31 years. He is preceded in death by Denise Charles (sister), Dr. Joseph Charles Jr. (brother), and India Charles (daughter). 

He is survived by his parents, Joseph Charles Sr. and Ruth Charles; wife, Kellie Charles; sisters, Sheri Charles-Rogers and Kathy Charles; brother, Reverend David Charles; daughters, Tamieah Charles, Asia Hill, Kenya Charles, and Kwanasia Charles; sons, Jamaal Allen and Donald Charles Jr.; grandchildren, Lynai Bryan, Cyra Prince, Jenniah Allen, Shamar Davis Jr., Sanaa Davis, Sarai Davis, A’Miyah Simpson, Arius Charles and Kairo Charles. And Daughter-in-law Jackie Simpson.
