Donald's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mr. Donald Bouchard on June 25, 2023. Born in 1955, Donald led a full and vibrant life, marked by a deep love for his family and immense joy in simple pleasures. He was a man of integrity, always standing for truth and fairness.
Donald is lovingly remembered by his spouse of many years, Iona Manes, who held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Annette Bober, brother-in-law, Leo Runearth, his nephew, Leo Bober Jr. and his stepsons, Dylan and Matt Manes. His father, Walter Bouchard, and mother, Marie Rose Eva Bouchard, predeceased him, and we take comfort in the knowledge that they are reunited in rest.
Donald's life was rich with hobbies and interests. He enjoyed a good game of chess, Monopoly, casino slots, card games, and online games. His favorite foods included spaghetti, egg drop soup, beans and rice, Indian tacos, Shepherd's pie, and corn soup. Donald had a soft spot for sweet tea, Sprite, V8, and coffee, which he often enjoyed while listening to his favorite artists like Bob Seger, Ozzy Osbourne, and Elton John.
He was an ardent fan of The Mandalorian, Sons of Anarchy, The Sopranos, Caught in Providence, America's Got Talent, and Wheel of Fortune. His favorite films included the likes of Gladiator, The Avengers, Iron Man, Lionheart, A Christmas Carol, Avatar, Star Wars, and John Wick. Being an avid supporter of University of Georgia Bulldogs, he rarely missed a game.
Donald cherished moments spent at the movies and on vacations with his family. He was particularly fond of Las Vegas and Lawton, Oklahoma. An active man, he kept fit through boxing and weight lifting. At home, he loved visiting Remington Park.
He cared deeply for the causes of homelessness, civil rights, and animal welfare. Donald's favorite color was blue, reflecting his calm, kind, and genuine personality. He believed in treating others as one would wish to be treated, a lesson he imparted to those around him.
Donald's legacy is one of kindness and gratitude. He excelled in carpentry and had the extraordinary skill of building houses. This stood as a testament to his knack for creating lasting foundations, not just in the physical sense, but also in the hearts of those who knew him.
In his life and now in his passing, Donald Bouchard taught us the importance of truth, kindness, and the joy of life's simple pleasures. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
