Don's obituary

Don Schultz, 75, of Faribault, MN passed away on April 13th, 2023. He was born on December 24th, 1947, to Roy & Carol Schultz.

Don was a loving and devoted husband to his forever Valentine, Donna. He was an amazing husband, father, and Papa to his grandkids. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisher, golfer, and Pickleball player. Don logged many hours on the basketball courts of the Wheaton. MN & Owatonna, MN high schools, and he was Xavier’s biggest fan during his flag football games. He was a faithful fan of the MN Vikings, and each Fall brought renewed hope and promise to Don and Robin for a great season.

Don is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Brian David (Cindi) Schwanke; daughter, Robin (Chris) Carson; daughter-in-law, Kelly Schultz, and four grandchildren, Sydney, Maya, Zachary, and Xavier. Don is also survived by his brother, Jerry (Mary) Schultz & sister Connie (Mike) Schmidt, both of Wheaton, MN.

Don served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and returned home in 1970 to marry Donna on August 7th, 1971. Don and Donna resided in Wheaton, MN for several years before moving to Dickinson, ND and settled most recently in Faribault, MN. Don truly enjoyed retirement and their home in Mesa, AZ in the winter months. He was able to get in one final round of golf the day before he left us.

Don was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends that loved him so dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing has left an unfillable gap in our hearts. His ability to sacrifice, support and love will be forever engrained in everyone who knew him.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Carol & Roy, and his son, Brian Douglas Schultz.

We find peace and comfort knowing he has been reunited with Brian.
