Don's obituary
Don was born on 12/28/1938 to Marjorie Keys and Don Allen in Cairo Illinois. He moved to East Saint Louis after graduating High School.
After graduation, he landed his first job as a Mail Man for the United States Postal Service. In 1961 he was drafted into the United States Army and was discharged due to injury while serving.
He went to college At Saint Louis University and graduated with a degree in business finance. He later received two masters in education and business administration and started a 30-year career with East Saint Louis School district 189 and retiring as Finance director .
In 1970 he met Huldah C Blamoville , and they wed in 1972, going on to have 2 children, Claudine Allen and Don Allen.
After retiring in 1998 Don spent his time volunteering with the John Cochran and Jefferson Barracks VA centers. He also joined the East Saint Louis Graduate chapter of Kappa Alpha PSI. Don was an avid golfer and a world traveler. He belonged to Christ Church Cathedral in Saint Louis Missouri.
Don was predeceased by his mother Margie Jordan his father Don Allen his Aunt Gladys Keys and Uncle Hugh Keys and a list of family members who have passed away. He is survived by wife Huldah Blamoville- Allen, and Children Don and Claudine Allen and Daryl Smith, Granddaughter Dawn Allen Sister’s Lisa Sumrall, and Mia Williams his
three nephews and a host of extended family.
Don Allen will be buried at Jefferson Barracks Memorial Cemetery on 12/23/2020 @ 1:00 p.m. celebrant will be Kathie Adams- Shepherd.
