Dearest family and friends,

We are deeply moved by the tremendous out pouring of love and compassion shown to our daughter, Dominique as well as to us. Reading each comment gave us strength and hope to carry on in the loss of  our daughter.

Dominique did her work for the Lord in a quiet, yet impactful way that influenced all she came in contact with--that's our Dominique.

Prospere and I thank you all for giving us these heart-felt memories that will be  used as fuel when we find ourselves running on empty.

Thank you for being  such a great support for our daughter in every way. We will never forget. You will always be in our hearts and there you will stay.

A special thank you to the students in French class at Roger Park Middle School.

With love and appreciation,

Prospere & Beverley

PS: I would like to share with you a letter that I wrote to my daughter, Dominique, on the day she went home to be with the Lord:

Oh my daughter, why so soon, why have you left me so soon?  Were you tired here on this earth? Were you weary? I already miss you, my love, my heart, my soul.

I promised the Lord that my job on earth was not complete until I saw you through your journey, your goal, your accomplishments. Where do I stand now? What do I have to live for now? You were a big part of my life- a reason for my strength, my hope, my courage and my drive to live.

There is a great void in my heart that I don't know if it ever will be filled again. I miss you my momo.

I keep seeing flashes of you as they try to revive you as your heart began to fail. I could only cry out the name of Jesus- to return you to me; but He has other plans for you, only 22 years young. This one I can't understand.

You came into this world a miracle child- the way you were conceived.  In my eyes you had longevity on your side; but I soon realized that tomorrow is promised to noone. Farewell my love, until we meet again,

Mom

My memories of Dominique are filled with so much joy. She had such a gentle and loving heart. Anytime we walked by each other on campus she always had such a beautiful and contagious smile on her face. This photo is of us on our discovery trip at Gordon where our frienship began and continuous. Always thinking of her and her family. Keeping you all in my prayers. Sending all my love! — with Emily Rodriguez

Thinking of Dom and her kind spirit and smile today. May she continue to rest in peace and paradise. Sending much love,Andree
Dominique always saw beauty in everything and in everyone. Her conversations were of a positive tone done with a smile, or with  laughter. She encouraged others around her to have that same enthusiasm and joy. Never discouraged or angry about bad news, but consistent in walking in love, joy and happiness. Yes, that was my daughter, cloaked in the love of God while she was here on this earth.
Thank you Beverly for sharing that with us. I think of Dominique and you all often. Praying you feel the comfort of our prayers.
Just seeing this now. I was in school with her from kindergarten to high school. We were friends all through HH. i am so sad, and so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers and thoughts to your family and her close friends.
Words cannot describe the void created by a loss such as this for a parent. Prospere, I heard the news as it came through department channels at work. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. The pictures of your family show warmth and love and a girl with a very special heart and smile. I hope you are embraced in all of your communities and if your family needs anything, don't hesitate to call. My deepest sympathies to you, your wife, and all your family and friends experiencing this loss. Most sincerely, Jennifer Wolke, ESL/Bilingual and World Language Dpt.

Dear Beverley and Prospere,
Dominique was the best cousin and best childhood friend I could ever have. From playing to attending birthday parties and having fun together, I had great memories with her that I will never forget. She was a true angel, and It breaks my heart that she left the world too soon. I'm still crying, but I know she's in a better place with God and looking down at you. I will continue to pray for you and pray to Dominique. Love you all!
I was a linguistics major alongside Dominique at Gordon and we shared many classes together. She brightened every class with her smile and her kind attitude. During our Audiology class, we studied together for the exams. It was a condensed class but we had to take in a lot of information. Whenever I felt overwhelmed I could text her and she’d listen and tell me she knew I could do it. Dominique encouraged me to look into speech pathology and her passion for it made me even more interested in the field. She was a great classmate and friend. She will be missed by friends, family, and the speech pathology community where she would’ve made a huge difference.

Dear Walter family,

I am so sorry to hear about Dominique's passing. I was her floormate last year at Gordon, and every single time I ran into her in the bathroom or saw her around campus and talked to her, I walked away smiling. She had a true graciousness and beauty to her that is so rare, and it came through in every interaction I had with her. She was there to welcome me back the morning I returned to campus after having covid. It was her graduation day, and we got to chatting as she did her hair. I remember wishing her luck and hearing her beautiful laugh, and then when she graduated, I would pray for her and hope she was doing well. It broke my heart to hear that she had passed, and I will be praying for you all to find comfort in spite of this tragedy. She will always be so deeply loved and treasured.

God bless,

Grace Sullivan

I am so sorry for your loss and I hope you can bounce back, become even stronger from this and beat this disease up

Hi, Mr. Walter

It's Allyana, from your French Class, I am so sorry about your daughter's death and hope that she finds happiness in her next life. I know this is a hard time for you in your life and no parent would want their child to die before them, I don't personally know your daughter but from the pictures, she looks like a sweet person with a kind soul, someone who would light up the room with just their smile, and someone who would bring warmth into the room even though it's freezing cold.  Although she isn't with you and your family anymore, I know for a fact that she is looking down from the heavens above hoping that you are alright.

My condolences go to you and your family.

From, Allyana Lindo
