Dolores Jean Wright-Woolford was escorted by the Heavenly angels to the realms of Heaven on November 22,2024. She was affectionately called “Dee” by her friends and family. Dolores was born to the union of Rev. TP and Eunice Henzy Wright on February 10, 1941 in Alton, Illinois. Dolores grew up and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of her Father Rev. TP Wright in Alton, Illinois. She played the piano at St. John under the mentorship of Mrs. Ladon Cunningham at a very young age. She played throughout her high school years until she left Alton to go pursue her dreams as a histologist. She graduated from the Alton Senior High in 1958. She attended College in California where she was certified as a Histologist. She was one of our “Hidden Figures” and was the First Black Histologist to work at Alton Memorial hospital. Dolores was later hired by Technicon Corp, where she traveled the USA to set up hospital Labs. She leaves to cherish her memories , her son Ted Woolford(Apirdee) and Grandsons Tyler and Taylor, She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Brian Woolford.Three brothers Harry A Searles J. ,RobertWebster and Thomas Daniel Wright. Sisters Bessie Woodson, Jessie Williams, Betty Robertson, Virginia White, Lillie Mae Wright and Sister /Niece Harriett Y Searles. She leaves a host of Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. A very Special and Devoted caretaker Sarah Mitchell and many friends made throughout her life. There will be a Memorial Service to Celebrate her life in Alton, Illinois at a later date.,
