Dianne Marie Murdock (née Kras), age 83, passed away on July 6, 2024. Born on July 19, 1940 in Hammond, IN she was the beloved daughter of Stephen and Lillian Kras.

Dianne was a determined, resilient, hardworking, and fun-spirited woman with her quick sense of humor, witty one-liners and comebacks. She had a fondness and exceptional skill for arts and crafts, ceramics, handmade sewn items, and a master of duct tape repairs. Dianne enjoyed many outings to the local casinos including, as her annual birthday celebration with her “favorite daughter”, game shows, football, and angels.

Dianne was a sacrificial mother with her dedication and love to her two daughters. Her home was the gathering place for the maturing neighborhood kids and because of Dianne’s straight forward, tell-it-like-it is character, she imparted invaluable life lessons from A to Z to those around her.

Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Dorothy Sobolewski, her son-in-law Mike Johnson, her great granddaughter Lila Marie, her mother-in-law Rhoda Murdock and her long-time life partner Warren Murdock.

Dianne’s legacy lives on through her loving daughters Vicki Johnson, Sharon (Jack) Staninger, her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Johnson, Steven (Sarah) Johnson, Sarah (Matt) Cattoni, and Matthew (Melissa) Staninger, her delightful great-grandchildren, Vincent, Genevieve, and any day expectant addition to the Cattoni clan, her dear sisters Mary Beth Urbanczyk, and Alice Mullally, along with countless annual Maxine daily quote of the day calendars.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Dianne’s life will be held on her earthly 84th birthday, July 19, 2024 at Griffith First Christian Church, 202 W Pine Street, Griffith, IN from 4-6 PM followed by a short service.
