Diann Sue (Pyritz) Bates sadly passed away on June 17th, 2022 in Largo, FL. She was married to Gerald (Jerry) N. Bates, of Reed City Michigan in Indianapolis, IN in 1956. Diann is predeceased by her Beloved Parents, Theodore and Margaret (Riegal) Pyritz, beloved sister, Julie (Pyritz) Thomas, beloved brothers, Steve Pyritz and Charles (Chuck) Pyritz, Beloved Child, Lorie Ann Bates, as well as her beloved husband, Jerry.

Diann is survived by her son, Mark Bates and his wife Tracey (Guinn) Bates and Diann’s daughter Tracey Bates and her husband Mark Douglass, as well as Diann’s beloved granddaughter, Lucy Bates. Diann found a great deal of humor in having two Mark’s and two Tracey’s in her family!

Diann was a 1954 graduate of Warren Central High School, Indianapolis Indiana. She worked several jobs, including American States Insurance, AAA Insurance, Avon High School Cafeteria, and retired to winter in Florida and summer in Michigan with her husband.

Diann’s greatest accomplishments were to raise her children and be the best Nanny in the world to her granddaughter Lucy.

Diann resided for the last 10 years of her life in Palm Harbor Fl, where she enjoyed being involved in her retirement community’s Social Club. She was also a devoted Hospice Volunteer for the last 8 years of her life, spreading joy and cheer to those visiting Suncoast Hospice Care.

She will be remembered as a great friend, a great cook, loved jokes and laughing as well as a great Mom and Nanny. She is missed already.
