Diane's obituary

Our lives, and anyone who knew Diane Marie Southard, were forever changed on November 26, 2024 when our beautiful and amazing mother made her way to heaven. Her inherent brightness shined every moment to the end, and her absence will be felt forever.

Born on August 3, 1953, Diane was a proud Leo and fully embodied the qualities that represented her birth sign: confidence, loyalty, creativity, and generosity. Although she loved her roots of Denville, New Jersey & loved connecting there throughout her life, her true love was the coast & she found her forever home state when she relocated to Florida in high school. It was here that she would create lifelong friendships, pursue her creative interests, and start her own family. A strong, independent mother to her three daughters, Gina Zabel, Jaclyn Lindsey, and Amber Raba, she gave them a life filled with care, creativity, love, and laughter. As her daughters grew their own families, she became the most incredible Grandmom to six grandchildren, who treasured their time with her & her endless coastal Grandmom magic.

Living in her dream town of New Smyrna Beach for the last six years, her days were filled with daily bike rides on her beach cruiser, shell collecting, and joy. She made beautiful friendships, forever explored her creativity, and always kept her faith at the center of her life.

Diane leaves a legacy of strength, kindness, and generosity. Her memory will be carried in the hearts of her daughters, her grandchildren, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She taught us to be joyful and faithful, to be kind and compassionate, and to always face life with a smile - just as we know she is doing now, dancing in heaven.
