Diane Lynn Morrell, 70, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2021. 'Dee,' as she was known to friends and family, was a devoted wife to her husband Bill, mother to her son Michael, daughter to her mother Emma, and sister to her siblings Sharon, George, and David. A native of Connecticut, Dee accompanied members of her Italian restauranter family — first to West Virginia, where she met and married the love of her life, Bill in 1973, and later to Georgia, where much of her family eventually followed her, and her son Michael came into her life.

Known for her generosity, hospitality, cooking, and kindness, Dee was employed at various times as a hospital worker, cook, waitress, caterer, Avon representative (making Presidents' Club in 1987), and a tireless friend to all who crossed her path. Her home was a haven of rest and grace for local friends and travelers alike. She and her family took in foster children, stray animals, and short-term guests with equal love and care. A woman of prayer and deep faith, Dee sought to exemplify the love of God in Christ to everyone she met. Laughter and heaping plates of food accompanied her almost everywhere she went.

Dee is already missed on this plane, greatly, while those who know her best are confident that her heart is now where her treasure always was (Matthew 6:19-21), secure in community with the great Cloud of Witnesses (Hebrews 12:1). We grieve her loss to us here, while we rejoice at the freedom and healing we believe she is now experiencing.
