Diane “Mona” Monahan 72, of Kalispell, MT, passed away on June 29, 2025 after a brief battle with cancer.

Diane was born on February 11, 1953 to E.J. and Rose Monahan in Butte, MT. After graduating from Butte Central high school in 1971, Diane went on to study Education at Eastern Montana College.

After graduation, Diane landed her first job as a teacher in Miles City, MT , kicking off a 35 year career in education which included teaching for 34 years in Evergreen, MT.

After retiring in 2006, Diane spent her time caring for her mother in Butte, MT.

Diane loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always up for a card game or a friendly game of marbles. Diane will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

Diane was predeceased by E.J. Monahan, Rose Monahan, Rosemary and (Ron) Brenneman, Francie Hamilton, Edward F. Monahan, Joseph M. Monahan, Terri Monahan.

Diane is survived by Carey Monahan, Bill and (Roni) Monahan, Patti and (Mark) Thomas, John Monahan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
