Diane's obituary
Diane Archie, 73, of Largo, FL, passed away on November 25, 2022. After a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Diane passed quickly, with no pain, and surrounded by her family.
Diane was born on July 4, 1949 to George and Ann Hunter in Exeter NH. During middle school, Diane met lifelong friends, Judy Crosby and Diane Fletcher, who worked together as chambermaids at the Sheraton Hotel. After graduating from Marshwood High school in 1969, she went to Portsmouth Beauty school. Her first job was as a secretary for Liberty Mutual. She also worked at the First National Bank. In 1971, she met Earl Archie. They wed in 1972, and went on to have two sons, Troy and Jamie Archie.
When Diane had Troy, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful wife and mother. Diane was a stay at home Mom until her boys were in grade/ middle school, she then took a job at the school to be closer to her children. Diane was never afraid to lead by example. She taught her sons how to excel in all aspects of life. Diane was particularly adept at propping up everyone she met in her life, and supporting them through good times and bad. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Diane was a passionate person, who loved to cook/bake and share her goodies with everyone. There was always something on the kitchen table under the glass cake display. She loved having her grandchildren up to the summer home at the lake in Maine for special visits with each child creating lifelong memories. When Diane wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found on the beach in Florida searching for sea shells and enjoying the sunshine. We will miss her greatly. Diane was predeceased by her mother and father Angela and George Hunter, and her sister Sharon Hunter. She is survived by her brother Gary Hunter, her loving husband Earl Archie, her sons, Troy and Jamie Archie, her grandchildren, Troy, Cassidy, Jack, Ryan, and Lena. Her great grandchild, Violet. It is no coincidence Diane's leaving was so close to Violet's arrival.
