Diamond's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of a phenomenal woman, Diamond Lindsey, who departed from this world on February 1, 2024. Born on a bright Spring morning on April 5, 1979; her radiance continued to glow throughout her life, touching the lives of those around her.
Diamond left behind her adoring father, Greg Brits, and a strong band of siblings: Missy Elliott, Becky Elliott, Jon Brits, Jess Brits, Tim Elliott, and Samantha Brits, all of whom treasured her deeply. Her loving husband Nicholas Lindsey, whom she married in a beautiful ceremony in 2020, also survives her. Their love story was an enchanting tale of companionship and mutual respect.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Olivia Lindsey, her caring mother, Renee Brits, and her cherished grandmother, Linda Wells. These painful losses never dulled her sparkle, but rather, fueled her passion to make the world a better place.
Diamond was an active volunteer at several organizations including the LGBTQ Support and Social Group USA, the American Cancer Society, and the Feeding the Homeless initiative. These groups benefited immensely from her dedication and hard work.
She was sweet, kind, caring, honest, funny, and loving — a true jewel whose shine could never be dimmed. Diamond firmly believed in not judging others and treating everyone as equal. Her greatest accomplishment was her fearlessness in giving a helping hand to those in need.
Her legacy is one of love and kindness. Diamond taught us all the power of compassion and her indomitable spirit will live on in the hearts of all those she has touched. She will be profoundly missed, leaving behind an irreplaceable void.
The world has lost a priceless gem, but the heavens have gained a sparkling star. Rest in peace, Diamond Lindsey. Your light will forever shimmer in our hearts.
