The last time I spent with Dhipak was in Saskatoon. I needed advice on a personal matter and I knew he’d be honest with me. It was the best advice of my life and I’m forever grateful to him for it. Fly high my dear friend ❤️❤️❤️

Alot of people probably don't know how close this guy was to my family and myself.
I remember Pink Floyd always playing AC DC, id always here him say "Ok Fine!") commin around Westmore corners. He was a vice principal of mine Arthur Peachey, a gym teacher of mine Westmore and was it history and English.....don't forget sex Ed.....haha. this man has seen and been through things I thought I'd never ever experience or imagine. Sadly I was expecting him and Instead of a close friend or family call letting you know they forgot or were sorry for not getting back....it was the call letting me know he has passed. Anyone that got to experience this real epic raw teacher in action will always remember him and the fact that you can still do your job but remember think outside the "box"
You will be missed and always loved! Reese and the bright side of the Morgan family!

My sincere condolences to the family of Deek Dookhun. I was a good friend of his in high school and aware that he was originally from South Africa. I wish I'd understood more then, about apartheid, settling in a new country, and faiths other than Christian. I recall Deek had a great sense of humour and adventure as well as a quiet intelligence. I'm glad to know he had the joy of having a daughter and a successful career. Rest in peace Deek.

A corny line that was true for Deek, about no such thing as a stranger ...Just a friend he hadn't met yet. Always wearing that great smile.

This loss will be forever felt. This is just too sad. A piece of my heart died. What made him so special is how he showed up for you and was just very supportive. He never claimed to be perfect and that's what made him more special. He was real and he was relatable. I have so many memories. One very special memory.
He taught at a school where many kids don't have much. Not many supports and alot come from horrible circumstances. His job wasn't just a teacher. It was friend, father figure, counselor or just someone that would listen. He was a light in many people's darkness.
People graduated because of him. People went on to become more because of him. People changed their life circumstance because of him. He was just a person you wanted to do better for. He was very very special. He will be in my heart forever.

I met this guy at my second time working for pabco. I didn't at first like him till I understood how busy and smart and not to mention the things in common we related to. Many suppers drinks or lunches or just a fast beer at the watering hole if he had time between working and home life. He had great advice always and was someone who helped me boost my self esteem seeing through my past and seeing the me noone else seen. I will honestly truly miss him forever as my brother. Sorry for your loss.

I remember when he taught high school at Beauval Indian Education Center (BIEC), northern Saskatchewan 1984. He and his good buddy Brian Abrey across the hall who taught computer science. As a student in one of his English classes, I remember being very tired from playing hockey the night before and badminton practice, which he coached. I fell asleep 10 minutes into his sermon on writing an essay. The last words I heard him say was, “...within the body of this essay…etc.” to being comatose until 3 minutes before the bell. It was so quiet in his class that when he woke me it startled me and I realized I was in my own cesspool of saliva which accumulated in the 50 min class. My reaction was priceless, when the sound of me trying to suck in the remnants, I became aware and noticed the whole room fixated in my direction and being a teenager, my embarrassment was very noticeable. But at the end of the day, my respect for him has never wavered. After all, I would like to think I was one of his foot soldiers on the badminton court, lol. What an amazing individual he was. RIP my good friend.
