Dexter's obituary
Dexter Matkovich passed peacefully at his veterinarians office surrounded by his parents, aunt and wonderful doctor. Dexter fought his disease so fiercely and so hard, but lost his battle on July 13,2022.
Dexter and his mom became attached at the hip from the moment he was born. It was love at first sight, and the rest was history. His love for food started very early, having his first burrito from Taco Bell at just 3 months old. Dexter had a natural charm that made everyone gravitate towards him. People from all over loved and adored him, especially his friends at all his favorite stores.
Dexter lived a very Exciting life, and never turned down an adventure. From eating pretzels and dirty water franks in Manhattan, to lounging on the beach on Captiva Island, Dexter took in every moment and lived how most people should try to live, happy and care free. He didn’t have to worry, because he knew his family would always take care of him and supply him with as much ice cream and chicken nuggets that he could handle. On his very last day here on Earth, he went out to breakfast and devoured eggs and bacon, then had a bowl of ice cream and topped it off with a cheeseburger and nuggets.
It is very touching and heart felt to see how many people truly loved him, even people that he never met in person. Everyone that met him, loved him; but no one loved him as much as his mom. Although the pain is unbearable and unlike anything anyone could imagine, the thought of never knowing such a beautiful, pure soul, is more painful. Dexter left his mark on a lot of people, and will most definitely never be forgotten. All dogs go to heaven, and he is definitely sitting on a throne. Until we meet again.
