Deuce's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Deuce "DJ" Hodge, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend. Known to many as DJ, but preferring Deuce, he was born on February 9, 1990, and tragically taken from us on June 8, 2023.
Deuce leaves behind his cherished wife, Julie Hodge, whom he married with deep affection in 2021. He was a devoted father to his children, Isabella and Nolon Hodge, and his love for them was boundless. Deuce is also survived by his mother, Christina Erickson, and his father, Rusty Hodge, who hold their memories of him close.
Deuce was an individual full of life and had a myriad of interests and passions. A connoisseur of good food and drinks, he relished chicken wings and tequila. He was an avid reader, with favorites including Louis L'Amour westerns. His musical taste was eclectic, with preference to Kane Brown, Josh Turner, and James Arthur. His soft heart led him to a fondness for romantic comedies, yet his love for all things football shone in his appreciation for films like Friday Night Lights and The Longest Yard.
A fan of the Miami Dolphins, Deuce's favorite pastimes included playing Destiny and Madden. He took immense pleasure in watching Josh Turner and the Miami Dolphins' matches. His recreational activities were an assortment of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and cycling. His love for nature was mirrored in his preferred vacation spots such as Walker, Minnesota, Sedona, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, Denver, Colorado, and the Badlands.
Deuce was a compassionate and vibrant man, often described as sweet, high-energy, loving, kind, chivalrous, and protective. His favorite color was orange, though he secretly loved blue. His greatest accomplishments in his eyes were his beautiful children and being able to marry his beloved wife, Julie. His remarkable legacy is one of unconditional love, selflessness, and profound care for his family.
His sudden departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him. The world is a little darker with the loss of his warmth, laughter, and loving heart. Deuce, your departure was premature, but your spirit will forever be remembered and missed dearly by all.
