Desiree's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Desiree Wright on February 25, 2024. Born on February 28, 1980, Desiree lived a vibrant and loving life, filling it with joy and positivity that will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.

Desiree was predeceased by her beloved grandparents, Stan and Joan Friedland, and her cherished parents, Richard Wright and Jeanne Friedland. Their memories were a beacon of strength and inspiration throughout her life, and their love will continue to guide her in the life thereafter.

She is survived by her loving and supportive husband, Juan Marquez-Gutierrez, and their two adored sons, Devon Marquez-Wright and Jesse Marquez. Her life was a testament to the deep love she held for her family and the close bonds she shared with her sisters, Erica Wright, Adrianna Mitchell, and Rachel Rosete-Gantner.

Desiree had an eclectic taste in music, which included artists such as Snoop Dogg and Too Short, along with many Latin musicians. Her love for thrillers was reflected in her preference for television shows such as "Cold Case Files" and series centered around serial killers.

Playing Yahtzee and La Loteria were some of her favorite pastimes, especially during family game nights. She was an avid fan of rap artists that she grew up listening to and relished working out with her gym buddies. Her favorite type of exercise was her group class with Miguel.

Desiree had a great sense of adventure, her favorite vacation spots being anywhere her family could join. She was described by those close to her as very private, funny, kind, and extremely generous. She embodied the belief that one should be comfortable in their own skin, irrespective of others' opinions— a life lesson she passionately imparted to those around her.

Desiree's zest for life, her warmth, and her indomitable spirit will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in peace and continue to inspire us in spirit, just as she did in life.
