My dear sister Desiree,
Though our paths did not cross as often after I left home, please know that you were never absent from my heart. You were always remembered in my prayers, always held in love.
As you now make your sacred transition, I offer this prayer to accompany you into the Light.
May your soul be wrapped in peace.
May you feel only love, comfort, and freedom.
May every burden fall away, and may you know that you are eternally cherished.
Go gently, dear sister, into the arms of Divine Love.
Go in peace. Go in light. Go knowing you are loved—always.
With all my love,
Your older brother,
Orrin, Velma and family

I am saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved sister Desiree “Des”.
Des and Dawn were born in New Amsterdam Berbice, Guyana. I was a small boy only eight years old. It was night time and the midwife was ready. Next thing we heard was the cry of a baby. Someone came out and said you have a sister. We were all excited to hear this news. It was late and we all were tired and went to bed.
Early the next morning, we all got out of bed to see our new sister and to our surprise two different babies were crying. We all looked at each other wondering what was going on. We were invited to come and meet our two new sisters.
Des and I always had a special bond. To the point that she visited me as she was transitioning. She came to me in a dream early Boxing Day morning to let me know that she was leaving. She walked past me and smiled then waved as if to say goodbye. I was not aware at that point that she had passed but this was her way of telling me. When Donna and Rita came to tell me I told them I already knew. Des has joined our parents Reginald and Eileen and our brother Ronald to watch over all of us.
We were a travelling family and we all left Guyana for different parts of the world to pursue our hopes and dreams..We always tried to stay in touch over the years either by video or phone calls. Des and I spent numerous hours chatting about our lives and families. She was a serious person but I always managed to get a laugh or two out of her. We always ended our chats with a good laugh.
She turned to me for advice and I was always her big brother and confidant.
Rest in peace my dear sister Des. Till we meet again. Love your brother Charles.

My condolences to my cousins Gayle and Shakima and their families. My heart is broken and saddened with the passing of Auntie Des. I have fond and cherished memories of her as a child that I will always remember and keep close. She was layed back, cool and stylish. She didn’t have to speak for you to know what she was thinking. She wore her heart on her sleeve. In recent years we were able to chat on the phone and enjoyed staying in touch over texts and photos. I loved her humour, quirkiness and witty personality. She was truly loved by all of us especially by her brother and confidant Charles. They always had a special bond. They would spend hours on the phone chatting and both looked forward to those calls. My mom Rita, her sister in-law, were very close as well. They spent hours on the phone reminiscing, chatting and sharing stories. Dad, Mom and I were fortunate to have a recent video call with her. That is a wonderful memory!
You left us too soon but God needed you more. Rest in Peace Aunt Des, you will forever have a place in my heart. Love Always, your niece Donna.
