I first meet Desi at CWT then continued at Allstate and then got him a job at Gavel where we last worked together. ย Desi was such an awesome person. that infectious smile and laugh of his OMG!! ย When I heard of his passing it hurt so much. To his wife, family and friends I'm so sorry for your loss. Desi was a great man. great human being. He was kind to everyone. He would make being at work fun and then of course after work events they were awesome with his jokes and sense of humor. I just wish I had stayed in touch these past few years... Just know my thoughts and prayers are with his wife Ashley and his family. I know this is a huge loss to everyone that knew Desi or what i would call him Des..I.. I just remember his great laugh and smile and it puts a smile on my face.๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—
To Desi's wife Ashley, my heart has been so heavy since I heard the news. He and I had been texting earlier in the year after having lost touch for a bit. I reached out when I heard he found the love of his life or as he put it 'my person'. You made him so happy and I am thrilled that he got to marry you and love you until God called him home. We were co-workers for several years at Allstate and great friends who would laugh all the time. I have the best memories of him including when we all met up at the Hyatt downtown Chicago or when the office went to Boogie Nights in Schaumburg where he and Marvin had VIP cards and I'd always tease them about it. He is so missed. Please know I am thinking of you and keeping you and his family in my prayers!

I was lucky to meet and know Desi, who was a customer at my shop. Desi enjoyed collecting action figures. When he came in my shop, I would say, "Desi, my designated driver!" It was just fun wordplay but behind it, was a tribute to someone that you could trust and rely on.ย

When folks pass, it is often said that they were "kind", even when it's not true. Desi was good to his core. Anyone would be lucky to call him a neighbor, friend, or family. ย He is the kind of man that, when I found out he was unwell, I daydreamed about showing up to eulogize him after he passed--because he deserved that recognition. To all of his loved ones, know that the Desi that was great to you, was also great to strangers and acquaintances in his comings and goings; and there is no greater compliment I can give.ย

My long time friend from way back in the days of CWT in Rolling Meadows. Sadden to hear such an amazing guy is no longer here. That laugh and smile would light up any room he was in. Always such a kind and sweet spirit. You will be truly missed Desi Woo! The laughter you gave many was to be treasured and Iโ€™m grateful to have many good laughs with you working in the travel world. ๐Ÿฉต
