As I prepare to travel to 2025 ABPsi Convention, I reflect on the amazing life and work of Derek Wilson.  The most notable fact:  He brought a group of students to the Convention every year.  His legacy is immortal!
I’m sorry to hear about your brother! 🙏🙏🙏

Time doesn’t create ease!
I never cared much to celebrate my birthday, but you always reminded me, two weeks in advance: "Our birthdays are coming up… Ms. Dorsey, celebrate!" I’d brush it off, and you’d say, “Right on,” encouraging me to celebrate…
For 12 years, you made sure I understood the importance of my existence. This year, at 31, I’m finally creating an intentional birthday because of your constant guidance.
I know you’d be so proud of where I am in my career. You’d probably say, “I told you so,” and definitely tell me to “document everything” (I hear you!) lol.
I understand now why you were so tough on me. You pushed me to create results, stand firm, and be better.

I know your journey in the African realm is beyond filled with peace, comfort, light, and many drums, just as you always believed.
Brotha, you are deeply missed! Thank you.

We are two weeks out before your birthday…it saddens me knowing I would never hear those word again. Stand tall!
May his legacy and contributions to the Black community remain alive!
