Derek Alfred Wilcox was born in Darlaston, England, to the parentage of Laura Brookes and Alfred Wilcox on August 9th, 1933.

Derek was a soft-spoken man with a big loving heart. He had a great sense of humor & a love of music, literature, fast cars & life! While he was a very fun man he was also a brilliant man who was great with numbers & had a mind for business as well. Derek arrived in the US by way of the SS Homeric in 1958 through Quebec, Canada, before arriving in New Jersey. Because he was a businessman he was a frequent traveler all over the world & lived all over the United States before settling in Tucson, Arizona, in the 90s. Derek's sun set peacefully in his home on December 7th, 2023.

Derek is preceded in death by both his mother and father, Laura and Alfred Wilcox; his two brothers, Richard and David Wilcox & his two sons, Erik Newman and David Wilcox.

He leaves to cherish in his memory five daughters, Britney Jackson, Icie Ward, Alina Ward, Stasheena Wilson, and Koko Ward; one son, Brian Newman; and a host of nieces, nephews, grand & great grandchildren.
