Derek P. Walsh, aged 56, of Defiance, OH; formerly of Indianapolis, IN passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 19, 2025 due to multiple organ failure, a complication from his battle with diabetes. Derek was born in Buffalo, NY on October 1, 1968 to the late David and Florence Walsh. Derek had a lifelong passion for dogs and was a proud dog Dad for many years, most recently to his beloved Sheba. Any dog fortunate enough to find a forever home with Derek hit the jackpot of their lifetime. Derek is survived by his brothers, David Walsh (Chad Phelps) of Grand Rapids, MI and Dan Walsh of Indianapolis, IN, His niece, Rylee Walsh of Grand Rapids, MI and decades long love, special friend and protector, Tina Stone, who always had his best interests at heart. He also leaves behind extended family and many, many friends. Derek was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jenny Walsh. A memorial celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
