I first met Dennys and her beautiful family, Al, Stephanie, Ed, Lila Rose, and Kevin in 2019 at her sister Martha's house in Temple Terrace, Florida. I was immediately moved by how warmly they all welcomed me into their family. Over the past few years we visited with the Cottino family at their home and I witnessed how she was the one who kept everyone together with great cooking and meal preparation, wisdom, wonderful parenting, and encouraging physicsl fitness. I could hardly keep up with her and Al on daily walks in the brisk morning air. She loved her family in Colombia and in Florida and was her sister Martha's best friend. We will all miss her greatly as she was still young at heart. To her family and friends she leaves a legacy of love and fond memories. Smile as you know she is watching all of us from her home on high with God.

Dennys! You left us waaaay too soon!! I am profoundly grateful for the wonderful opportunity to spend a few moments here and there sharing our adorable granddaughter (Lila Rose) -- just wish you'd stayed here longer!! Now you're in a better place. Thank you for opening your home - and your swimming pool(!) to create happy memories, which I shall cherish the rest of my life. ~Jocelyn Newton

When i heard the news, I was heartbroken. Dennys was so full of life, always smiling, laughing with others. I remember seeing her outside OBGYN for her daily walk and everyday she would stop and see how you were doing. Or do a little dance as she walked. She is going to be deeply missed! My condolences to her family and loved ones.

My condolences to Al, Stephanie, Kevin ,Lila Rose, and all her family and friends. Dennys was such a truly amazing woman, and I am so sorry for your loss. I met Dennys in 2010 at the Obgyn office. We ended up sharing a tiny office with “no windows” as we always joked about. We had so many laughs and amazing talks I will always hold dear to my heart. She was an amazing soul and I’m thankful for all the time we were able to spend together. Those moments will always stay in my heart. Love you Dennys , thank you for all the times you were there for me I’ll never forget.

I was so sad when I heard the news of Dennys's passing.
When I first joined OBGYN of EB I erroneously thought that Dennys was a male employee 😂. I always called her "Dennis". She was a kind soul who always had time for everyone. Great sense of humor and we spent many minutes in laughter over the years.
To her family, I can't imagine your grief and how much you will miss her smiling face and I can just hear her with some of those "quotes." You have my deepest sympathies and I thank you for sharing her with me.

My sincerest DEEPEST condolences to Dennys's family: Alfred, Stephanie, Kevin, Lila Rose and all her brothers and sisters here in the states and Columbia during this difficult time. I pray this bible verse sends some peace, comfort, and courage as you face the days ahead.
Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand". Denny loved you guys beyond measure. She was so excited when Stephanie moved back to NJ in June.
I first met Dennys at OBGYN of East Brunswick and we would often have lunch together and chat about our daily lives. Denny was more like a sister to me than a co-worker. Denny love food, music and loved to dance. I will miss us talking about our ratchet tv shows and hearing and all the life lessons she taught me. There is saying, " If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again." I will tremendously miss our conversations Denny. I love you my sister and thankful for our time together.
Love Shurla

Quotes we loved of my mom:
"Honey, you're not Swedish, put some lipstick on."
"The shakiras come up from the ground every seven years..." (to which we replied HUH?) "...or maybe it's cicadas?"
"No one is going to get trafficked. And let's be honest, if anyone is going to be trafficked, obviously it's going to be me {flips hair}."
