What an awesome man, I appreciated his sense of humor, his wisdom and friendship. As a plumber for BSU there would sometimes be weeks between seeing him, he ALWAYS had a smile and yes….. a piece of candy!
Dennis was always so generous to share his knowledge and in March of this year he replied to an email I sent to him at nearly midnight. He told me about his super duper computer system at his house and how he could work any time of the day or night he wanted to. He shared with me his love for BSU, genealogy, and the Madison County Historical Society. Always positive in his outlook and boundless in giving to others! His closing line on the email was "Don't stop thinking about tomorrow." What a blessing he was to us all!
Dennis was my boss from his BSU hire date in 1988 to my retirement in 2007. Dennis was more than a boss he was a friend. He was always there to lend a hand to my husband and me with our computer problems before and after my retirement. I really thought he would beat this illness but we all must remember that God is in charge. Rest in God’s Peace my friend.
I've known Dennis for the past 15 years as a friend and a client. His dedication to his work and our higher education industry was unmatched. He was a fixture on one of the listservs where he would gladly answer questions posed by colleagues from other schools. We all benefited greatly from Dennis' knowledge and helpful nature, and he will be sorely missed.
