Dennis McLaughlin, 71, Auburn, Kansas, much loved father, grandfather and brother, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Dennis was born in Aurora, Colorado, March 11, 1953, the son of Harry and Lucille Sevald McLaughlin. He was a 1971 graduate of Hayden High School, earned his degree in business from Washburn University and his master's degree in business administration from Baker University.

Dennis retired from Southwestern Bell as a supervisor with 30 years of service. He stayed busy in retirement, teaching business at Allen County Community College, working with Alltech Communications and driving for Arrow Stage Lines.

A member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Dennis was a devout Catholic. He was big-hearted and always helping someone. But Dennis was also ornery, fun and quite a jokester. He LOVED the KU Jayhawks and could wear a different Jayhawk shirt every day. Most of all, Dennis loved his family, especially his grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Dennis is survived by his son, Robert (Jamie) McLaughlin; and his grandchildren, Cole and Remi McLaughlin, Genson and Belle Simecka. Dennis is also survived by his brothers, Bill McLaughlin, Topeka, KS, Tom (Barb) McLaughlin, Littleton, CO, Dan (Kathy) McLaughlin, Topeka, KS; and sisters, Kathy Herriage, Atchison, KS and Mary McLaughlin, Littleton, CO.

Family will greet friends Thursday, August 29th, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka, KS 66614. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery.
