Dennis was my big cousin up the street. He went to Bass Lake with his father and my fathers families for years. Back in the early 70's maybe in 71, we all went up to the "flume" , snow runoff in a concrete and sometimes steel half tube. We all hiked miles up a trail over bridges and canyons and lined up in air mattresses and locked together in a long train and rode it down. I was just 5 years old and the water was ice cold and I was terrified..Dennis told me to not worry it would be fun and he was right in front of me the whole way down..that day he was my hero! I will never forget that day. I know he is in heaven with the Lord now and is no longer in pain.
