Pancreatic cancer is an unforgiving disease, one that takes far too many lives and leaves families grappling with heartbreak and frustration. For us, it became painfully personal when Dennis Albert, a beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend, was diagnosed with this relentless illness. It wasn’t just the diagnosis that was devastating—it was the overwhelming struggle to find timely, effective treatment options, especially clinical trials that might have given him a fighting chance.
Dennis faced his battle with the same strength, humor, and resilience that defined his life. But as his family, we were left navigating a system that didn’t move quickly enough. Clinical trials, which represent hope for so many, felt like an unreachable lifeline. We knew the science and progress were out there, but the process to access those options simply wasn’t fast enough to meet his needs.
Dennis deserved more. Everyone fighting this disease does.
For those who knew Dennis, they’ll remember his unwavering dedication to his family, his love of sports, music, and his vibrant sense of humor. He was a man who brought joy, laughter, and inspiration to everyone around him. Losing him to this disease has left an unimaginable void in our lives, and it’s a reality far too many families face.
