Dennie's obituary

Dennie Eugene Adams passed away in long term care on June 8, 2025, in Winter Garden, FL after a lengthy physical and mental decline brought on by dementia. Born on May 6, 1955, in Wilmington, OH, his presence is already deeply missed by all who had the joy of him in their life.

Dennie was always a creative and artist. For most of his life, you could always find pen or pencil in hand, sketches on scraps of paper, or pieces of models being put together. When not actively creating he was generally researching to create. He always had an eye for a new reference book - whether it was racecars and muscle cars, airplanes and tanks, or spaceships and special effects.

He primarily grew up in the Bradenton/Sarasota area and was well versed in getting around town to find the best spots for most anything. Years of working with GTE as a telephone repairman had him living a life of out and about and always handy. He loved a good, local eatery - be it a family run breakfast spot or a hole in the wall to get a good Cuban sandwich. He could frequently be found about town with just a mission for a good meal, with some good and loud tunes to guide him.

He was endlessly supportive of his family. Dennie is survived by his beloved daughters, Rebecca Blythe and Cassandra Adams, and son-in-law Jason Blythe, his mother, Janice Adams, his brother Willie Adams, and his sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Karen Bailey.

Those who knew Dennie will remember someone dedicated to his friends and relatives. He was so proud of his family and would always chatter on about what Becky and Cassie were doing. His humor and drive led to many hijinks for close friends and many hours of dedication poured into supporting local model clubs and events. Some of his most proud accomplishments involved being active in programs to inspire young model builders at various model shows across Florida.

As we remember Dennie Eugene Adams, we celebrate the spark he left on those who knew him. He brought his passions to those around him and drew people in to share in that joy. Dennie's memory will be kept as a comfort those who take a moment for a good meal, to put some plastic together, to watch a race, or play a good song a little too loud.

A celebration of life will be held at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside location in Bradenton, FL on Saturday, July 26 at 2:30p.m. As Dennie was always more of a jeans and t-shirt guy, we ask anyone who would like to come to stay casual. Drinks and light appetizers will be provided.
