Denise's obituary
Denise Darling Rendell, 59, of Bridgewater, MA left this physical world on June 30, 2023 in Port Orange, FL. She earned her wings She was born on September 20, 1963, in Quincy, MA, to the late Rodney Mclean Darling Jr. of Quincy, MA, and Joan Swart (Grant) of Brockton, MA.
Denise was a kind, beautiful and intelligent woman with a free spirit. She truly was the life of the party. Her love of essential oils was well-known -- The aroma of patchouli that persistently lingered days after visiting her home was an everlasting reminder. Her creativity was evident in her passion for crafting, creating decoupage pieces and jewelry like her infamous lava bead bracelets. Her gorgeous work could often be found at local gift shops around the area.
Denise attended Brockton High School and went on to pursue her higher education at Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1988 and became a Registered Nurse. She excelled as a nurse and was loved by all of her patients. Her compassionate and affectionate demeanor shone through to all she crossed paths with. Her dedication to her profession and compassion for others touched many lives throughout her career.
She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and cherished memories. She is survived by her daughter, Jillian Darling O'Neil; her son and his wife, James and Jennifer Cotter; her granddaughter, Rylie Anne O'Neil; her grandson, Cameron Michael Raynard; her sister, Deborah Darling; her brother, Jason Swart; her step-mother, Maria Darling; her nieces, Kelsey Darling, Addison Swart, and Layla Swart; her nephews Jim Kelly and son Connor Kelly, and Rodney Swart; Her beloved friend, Richard Sabathe; and her chihuahuas: Bebe, Luna, Chica and Bentley. Denise was preceded in death by her brother, Rodney McLean Darling III; her mother, Joan Swart (Grant); and her father, Rodney McLean Darling Jr.
In honor of Denise's love for entertaining and planning themed parties, her friends and family will be planning "Denise's Biggest Bash Ever" to celebrate her life. Her final wish was to have her ashes paddled out by her dear friend, Sabathe on their beach in Wilbur by the Sea in Daytona Beach, FL. Details about the event will be shared with friends and family as soon as possible.
