Demetri's obituary
With profound sorrow, we mourn the passing of Demetri Wright, born in Far Rockaway, NY on February 14, 1993, and sadly taken from us on July 1, 2023. A loving son, brother, father, and friend, he had a spirit of joy and kindness that touched everyone he met. He would put everyone and their needs before his own, even when he struggled himself.
Demetri's unique personality was a blend of an old soul, a sense of humor that could lighten any mood and an enduring love that he generously shared with those around him. His infectious laughter and love for dance made him the life of every gathering, filling rooms with energy and happiness. He took after his mom and dad in many ways.
Education held a special place in Demetri's heart. The cornerstone of his accomplishments was his dedication to learning, beautifully highlighted by him graduating from high school and successfully completing college. His undying quest for knowledge was an inspiration and will fondly be remembered. He also sought to know more about God and had many questions about the meaning of his life.
Demetri's legacy is one of perseverance and self-improvement. His motto of consistently striving to be better for himself and those around him is a part of his story that will live on in the lessons he shared and the things we will remember about his life.
Demetri leaves behind his beautiful daughter Rosalee Wright; his loving mother, Sandra Belvin, his supportive father, Curtis Wright; and his dear sisters, Tawana Blount, Annette (brother-in-law Keith)Allen and Sade Wright (in-law Monay Deylons), his brother Darryl Burnett and high school love Tiara Evans. As well as a host of family and friends.
He is predeceased by his brother, Curtis Wright Jr., his sister, Quenya Wright, grandfather, Obedieth Belvin, and grandmother, Jessie Belvin.
His memory will forever be cherished in our hearts as we continue to keep his legacy alive. His absence will be profoundly felt, especially by his daughter, whom he loved deeply.
