My deepest condolences. Delores was our neighbor where I grew up in San Leandro. She was a wonderful person, and she and my mom cherished a friendship that lasted from the mid-1950's until my mom's passing last March.
When I moved to Stoneridge Creek 3 years ago I met Dee and many in her "pioneer" group of friends. Then we discovered our balconies faced one another. We joked that we were going to get two tin cans and long string so we could communicate. Miss Dee, a wonderful friend and neighbor.
When we lived in Fremont Ca., Dee and Don moved in next door. We met over the back yard fence. When my husband had some one ship him scrimp, we had so much that Dee came over and helped me preserve them for the freezer, and that night we had a neighborhood party. We moved away from California and after Don retired and they started their travels , they came to see use in Wisconsin. She was an awesome friend.
I just found out about Dee's passing. Was a neighbor in Fremont Ca. To her family my condolances. Janice Barrett mother of Dan, Laura and Jim. Wife of deceased Bob.
Where do I begin expressing my great love and admiration for Aunt Dee? Perhaps it's best to tell you that I consider her one of the great women role models I have known in my lifetime. Willing to take risks as an athlete, experimenting with new culinary adventures and refusing to accept that the number of years she celebrated each birthday should restrict her in any significant way. She enthusiastically jumped into new experiences -- meeting new people, organizing group activities and figuring out how to approach any obstacle life happened to put in her path. Her laugh was feminine but exuberant, and she DID love a good joke. As her nephew's wife, I recall with great fondness our time spent together going through family photos and her retelling family stories; our dinners at the "Creek" where we listening to her share proud stories about her grandchildren and hearing about her latest cruise or "birthday dinner" with family or friends; and the lovely handmade gifts that she expertly crafted for fortunate recipients. I miss her terribly and am grateful that I have had her as a part of my life. Although she is gone from my sight, I hold her in cherished memories.
Dee was the first person I met here at Stoneridge almost seven years ago. It is a huge loss for us. We shared many times together. As anyone that knew her knows she was funny, talented, loving, preserving and on and on. We are already missing her every day. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Joyce Thomsen
Dee had a warm personality and always had a positive attitude. What a wonderful infectious laugh. Several of the Washington High group would get together at Christmas time and we always enjoyed her stories. A wonderful Christian friend. Great memories! Daryl and Jan Talken
Holiday meals were always my favorite with the family, I was always impressed how Aunt Dee and uncle Don opened there home to everyone and always welcomed extra people, like visiting service men and women. I have kept this going on at my house and so happy to have spent the time with them.
Sue Johnson Remembering all the many joyous times I spent with Uncle Don, Aunt Dee and their family including marvelous holiday dinners. Dee will be missed by all and Heaven has a new angel.
It's been ages since I spent time with my Aunt Dee, Uncle Don and cousins but the the wonderful memories seem like yesterday! She was so kind and loving!

P.E.O Chapter LH in Sonora remembers Dee with fondness. Always smiling, always cheerful, loving and kind. Condolences to her family. May their memories sustain them.
My heart is heavy on hearing this. Dee was such a wonderful lady. I am so shocked to hear this. We were just on line the other day, discussing Pam and also Dee's health. My love goes out to the family. Betty Rhodes, San Jose. Formerly from Jamestown
Farewell to my dear friend Dee - I will miss her so much - our lunches, travels, wine tastings, our almost daily phone calls and texts these past few months - a void which will never be filled. My heart goes out to her family at this difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear of Dee's passing. She was a very special person up here in Rolling Oaks in Jamestown. She was known for her and Don's love of golf and her love of bridge. She was well known for her famous Christmas cookie and ornament exchange party. I will miss her quick texts and Christmas newsletter.
As Bridge director at Stoneridge Creek Pleasanton, I had the pleasure of knowing Dee as she played every week against the best competition. Dee was a keen competitor who had achieved the rank of Club Master in the American Contract Bridge League. She was always happy and pleasant with her regular partner, Victor Olcott, and with her opponents. She will be missed.
