Delaine Ashwana Stone Carlisle, 65, of Berkeley, CA, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 after a fierce battle with illness.

Ashwana was born March 28, 1956 to Harriet Tamplin Stone and Leroy Stone in Atlanta, Georgia. She was the youngest daughter of nine children. After graduating from Frederick Douglass High School, she was proud to have been accepted to the prestigious Oglethorpe University where she planned to study dentistry. Her plans changed when she …
