DeeDee's obituary

Deirdre Kay Rusch, age 54 of Auburn, Washington, died at home on January 1, 2025 following a courageous decades-long battle with bipolar disorder. She was born April 24, 1970 in Madison, WI to Larry and Jean (Scanlan) Rusch. She was a 1988 graduate of James Madison Memorial High School and a 1992 graduate of University of Wisconsin Whitewater. After graduation, she worked at First Wisconsin Bank in downtown Madison. In 1996 she made the cross country move from Wisconsin to Washington to enjoy the rain. There she worked at Paccar and Coinstar, managing multi-million dollar projects. Her passion was always for animals, shown thru her pet cats and dogs, dog sitting, dog walking at the humane society, and fostering dozens of cats over the years.

Survivors include her mother Jean, Madison, WI; sister Heidi (Brian) Mohs, Germantown, WI; nieces Jaime Mohs, Wauwatosa, WI and Emily Mohs, Germantown, WI; aunt and uncle Lois and Dennis Graczykowski, Manitowoc, WI; aunt Rose Scanlan, Oshkosh, WI; uncle Don Schiesl, Eagle River, WI; and cousins Todd (Anne) Graczykowski, Mark (Sarah) Grazcykowski, Christine Schiesl, Jody (Matt) Van Deurzen, Tom (Meg) Schiesl, and Craig Scanlan.

She was preceded in death by her father Larry Rusch, grandparents Elton and Irene (Buck) Rusch and Thomas and Margaret (Kane) Scanlan, uncle Patrick Scanlan, aunt Mary (Scanlan) Wendt, and cousin Terry Schiesl.

Dee Dee’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services. Adopt a pet from or donate to a shelter in her memory! Condolences may be sent to pubtopub@hotmail.com.
