Declan and I somehow had every other class together Senior year of high school. I loved it and we would laugh every day!  We did not become really good friends until he started playing volleyball and it was so fun to see him excited about getting better at a new sport. I remember he sent me the video of his first ever jump serve and was so proud to show it to me.  I really was impressed!  He was so athletic and his work ethic was inspiring!  Declan became a good friend because of volleyball, but he stayed a true friend in my life by always making the effort to genuinely stay connected and send his congrats and support after every accomplishment I’ve had. He would always say something along the lines of “I told you that you could do it” or “you deserve this!”  As a friend, he was always your biggest cheerleader and he made me feel like I could achieve anything I wanted to.  Now I’m playing pro volleyball and of course, Declan was one of the first to reach out to me just days before he passed.  

I wish I could be there on Saturday to celebrate Declan! Our championship game is that day. My heart and thoughts are there with his friends, family, and fiancé he loves so much!

Declan never failed to be the one that put a smile on my face. His laugh was contagious and his smile always brightened my mood. His goofiness and friendship helped push me through my teen pregnancy. One of my favorite memories is when he was my prom date junior year.. we both didn’t have dates and I jokingly asked him if he would take me and he agreed, I remember he picked me up from my house while millirocking and opening my door for me. He bought my dinner and we took pictures, after prom I indulged in some adult beverages and he still made sure to get me home safely and on time w the curfew my parents gave me.  All that just shows his character. He wasn’t just an outwardly nice guy, his morals and character were so strong and he stayed so true to himself. love and miss you so much dec. 🩵 thank you for being a genuine soul and showing me true kindness and friendship. 

I’m sorry I won’t be able to make the celebration. I have a cousins wedding out of town. But every ounce of me will be there in spirit🩵 

Also declan was so proud that he was one of the only guys to guess we were having two girls💕💕 so glad we have the video of him yelling “I knew it!!!!” at our gender reveal. miss him so so much
