Debra was one of the most godly women I have ever met. She was such an encourager and filled with wisdom and compassion.
I know without a doubt that Our Lord Jesus Christ welcomed Debra home by saying:
Well done, good and faithful servant.
Though she will be missed, I know she is still cheerleading all of us from heaven.
Please know that both you and Debra have forever influenced my life for the better.

My family and I moved from Helena, Montana to Edmonds, Washington we stayed with Uncle David and Aunt Debra for a little a while it was some of my favorite times hanging with the cousins playing (spoons) it was fun but "ouch"!. Aunt Debra always was so welcoming to me and new my friend across the street, She would let us go swimming all the time in the pool and was always quick to offer a hug. I miss those times greatly.

I will always remember Debra's beautiful, infectious smile and sweet demeanor, always uplifting and fun to be around. We had many heart to heart talks ~she was always encouraging and had just the right words to share when I was going through a tough time in my life. I was always happy to see Debra either at church or at meetings as she always took time to say hello and visit. I'm so thankful we became friends- I will miss her so, but will strive to be as compassionate and loving as she was to everyone she met.
Love to Dave & all the family, I know she leaves a huge hole in your hearts. I'm certain she is in heaven dancing with the angels!

The most fun-Fondest memory of Aunt Debra is, and ALWAYS will be waking up on a weekend, to Fleetwood Mac (Rumors) or Heart (Dreamboat Annie?) blasted (usually what woke me) and knowing it was a house cleaning day with Aunt Debra and Mom. Yep, it was fun! They had a way of making it that way. I may not have saw it that way at the time, but it has been and is, still my favorite way to clean my own house.
Of all of the concerts I've been to (and there have been a few), the Fleetwood Mac concert with my Mom was THE BEST!!

Another fun memory from my summer visit w/Uncle Dave & Aunt Debra...
We went Ghost/Mining Town touring in the mountains, not one of those touristy ones, just one Uncle Dave knew or just found.
As we were wandering through, checking out all the buildings 'n such, a storm came through. Thunder, then Lightning! It was gorgeous!
It was off in the distance, but up close and personal enough to excite a couple adult, and a bunch of kids. Uncle Dave found a boulder to climb on top of, to get the best view...most people would probably just get into their cars and go home. We just stood and appreciated natures show. I was already a thunder/lightning storm junkie by then, but THAT one, in THAT way...just the 6 of us out there in the middle of nowhere america, enjoying the best show ever. Better than any firework show I've ever been to.

One of the most devastating days of my life...
At a stop light, on my way to work...original intension was to check my ringer volume, but saw there was a text from my Mom about Aunt Debra. Reading those words were like a punch in the stomach by the biggest athlete you can imagine. I thought, I do this. I can finish the short drive to work. I could just sit in my car, fall apart, then get it together and carry on with work responsibilities. Only made it another couple of blocks, before just pulling over. Cried hard for a bit. I even had some trouble catching my breath. Eventually, collected myself. Wiped my tears, blew my nose, and finally continued onto work (my job to ensure everyone got paid)...
There are more than a few things about Aunt Debra I am going to greatly miss...
Her complete body & soul smile. The kind of smile that you just can't help but FEEL the love and happiness from.
Hearing her giggle, that was just as genuine and even more contagious.
That Aunt Debra hug and kiss on my cheek.
Her genuine 100% excitement to see me, always made me feel like that little girl all those years ago.
A few years ago, SHE was my birthday surprise. I couldn't have asked for anything better either.

What I've learned from Aunt Debra is probably tremendously more than I can think of, or put into words at the moment, but here's the short list...
1. Bell Peppers (all colors), are NOT hot. They add an abundance of flavor and are delicious! She introduced us all to many yummy new foods over the years.
2. Campbell's soup can make great hair curlers. I was crazy shocked the first time I saw her hair in them!
3. Altitude MATTERS! Especially when you're extremely light complected...
I was either 12 or 13, when I went to visit Aunt Debra in Helena, MT. She had remarried, so I was to meet my new Uncle and Cousin, as well reunite with cousins Dustin and Shane. Fast forward to a swelteringly hot summer day (in MT, not WA). All of us kids were outside playing in the pool, trying to cool off. Aunt Debra expressed concern of me becoming a crispy critter in that Montana heat. I assured her that I'd be fine. A few hours later. LOBSTER GIRL!! My scalp and tops of my feet were TOASTED! Into the house we went. Aunt Debra sacrificed one of her larger Aloe Vera plants to treat my sunburn. No lectures, no scolding, lots of giggles (fresh cut Aloe Vera is COLD on a severe sunburn). There was church that evening, at which the tops of my feet hurt/itched horribly! I did survive, AND learned one valuable lesson about Altitude.

How I met Debra Yuhas (Aunt Debra)
1968-Lodi, California.
I actually cannot recall a time that Aunt Debra, wasn't my Aunt Debra. All I know is that she went to school with my parents, and the rest was history...
There was a time, somewhere around my 2nd or 3rd grade year, that we all (Mom, Aunt Debra, myself, Dustin, Shane and Darin all lived together, in a 2 story house, on Bozart Street, in Woodland, WA.
It was tough having 2 Moms in the same house sometimes. More things were caught, but on the flip side, we all had TWICE the love and support too. Aunt Debra always tried to ease my punishment(s), when I would get into trouble. I remember hearing her saying, "Awe Cheri", while she was talking to my Mom about what I had done and/or what my punishment should be. I'm not sure how much of the time that plea for leniency on me was successful, but I always had a glimmer of hope each time I heard it. Either way it turned out, I always appreciated Aunt Debra's effort.
Later in life, when I was 9/10 I was blessed with the best Dad any kid could ask for. This all came to be, in part, thanks to Aunt Debra introducing my Mom, to my future Dad. Apparently, she was a master match maker too.

What comes immediately to mind thinking of my dear friend Debra are these words, 'Because I have known you my friend, I know more of my God'...

I met Dave and Debra almost 10 years ago working on a mutual project . We became instant friends, sharing our faith, brainstorming ideas, collaborating on training and events... Traveling through Washington and Oregon, their beautiful home in Vancouver became a place of rest and refreshment, with never enough time to share all of our ideas and knowledge or recent sermons with each other... Homemade meals were very special. Always healthy, colorful, delicious, made with loving hands and hearts...

Debra, always the encourager, calling sometimes at 7am because God told her to and knew I needed a hand up at that moment... always making sure I knew of the latest health supplements and advice, words of knowledge, sharing books, recent blogs, goodie bags while I was on the road...

Dear Dave, and all your family and friends, you're in my heart and prayers daily. I know you were in her heart and prayers daily. She was always bragging about you, sharing pictures of her grandkids, their recent escapades and accomplishments, the
excitement of visiting and spending time with you, the recent trip to Colorado...

Debra, a woman of great faith, strength, and character in the midst of life's storms at times. To know her is to love her. You will grieve much because you were loved much.

I lost one of my most cherished friends here on earth for a short while... Her laughter, smile and encouraging spirit is the legacy that we can all carry within us...

Rest well, dear friend, until as God permits each of us, we can meet again on Heaven's bright shore...

I met Dave and Debra in 2018 when I was pregnant with my 1st child. They came to pick up thier first order of many eggs from us. I felt like I had known Debra my whole life the way she easily struck up a conversation with me. From the moment I met her I could tell she was a sister in Christ as she oozed a christlike love for all people. I looked forward to visiting with both her and Dave as they came to get eggs on a regular basis, she was the first to know what we planned to name our 1st born son and I never regretted telling her first. I am currently pregnant with our 3rd and selfishly wish so much she could be here to met him, as she was always so loving towards our kids. I miss her dearly but rejoice in the Lord that she is in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
