Debra's obituary
Debra Louise Oatis, age 48, of Belzoni, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Debra was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church and worked for many years at the Belzoni Community Center. Her kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of many in her community.
She is survived by her three children: Taylor Expose (Biloxi, MS), Mone Expose (Belzoni, MS), and Carla Thomas (Memphis, TN); seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Johnson, and her parents, Henry and Lillie Mae Parker.
Funeral Service
Date & Time: Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 12:00 PM
Location: Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Belzoni, Mississippi
Officiating Minister: Rev. Samuel Green
Burial will follow at Belzoni Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Belzoni, MS.
