Debra's obituary

Our beloved Mother, Grand-Mother, Great-Grandmother, sister, and friend Debra "Debie" Marks peacefully entered God’s Kingdom on July 12, 2023, while in her sleep.

Debra was born to Alvin, and Joyce Pitt on December 14, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah. When Debra was younger, her favorite activities were fishing, and playing softball.

Debra Went on to serve an LDS mission in Scottland. After her mission, she moved to Huntington Beach, California.

In 1974, Debra met Eugene, a match truly made in heaven at a church New Year's Eve dance. Debra and Eugene were sealed in the Los Angeles California Temple on April 26th, 1975. Debra & Eugene went on to have 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Debra was a loyal servant to God, and our savior Jesus Christ first and foremost. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Debra had such an unbreakable faith.

Debra was a person that was willing to go out of her way to help anyone. It didn't matter whether it was a family member, friend, or stranger. She instilled this in her children from a young age

After her youngest child started school Debra attended Westminster College and came close to finishing her bachelor's degree in, accounting.  Needless to say, Debra hated Biology. That was the only credit she needed. She loved math. When her children were younger, and in school Debra would help them with their math homework and was excited for it. Debra tried to convince her children that math was fun. That didn't quite catch on with them.

Debra was a very stubborn individual. At times that definitely was helpful. She survived many years of extremely high blood pressure, and a massive stroke, and got her lymphoma into remission at one point. It was no doubt that her stubbornness got her through those situations.

Debra joins Her eternal companion Eugene Marks, her parents, Alvin, and Joyce Pitt, her Grandparents who helped to raise her, Harold, and Lois Warnick, and her sisters, Lynda Carlston and Karen Holladay in Heaven.

She is survived by many loving family members, Children, Joyce (Brett) Harris, Jackie Lister, and Jonathan Marks. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Christian Ford, Michael (Jaimy)Waters, Tylar Turner, Chandler King, Bailey (Jaelin)Headrick, Samantha Lister, Cameron King, Daniel Harris, Brandon (Dorothy) Harris, Alycia (Kaylee) Harris, and Jonathan Marks Jr. Debra is also survived by her Great-Grand Children Ezra, and Ezekiel Waters,  Jaeliah Barajas, and her brother Dennis (Teresa) Pitt.

"The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”

"Footprints in the Sand" - Mary Stevenson
