Deborah's obituary
Deborah Louise Putnam, 63, of Brookhaven, GA passed away peacefully on February 01,2023 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. Deborah was born in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York on November 9,1959, to Gloria Greene Putnam and Willis Edward Putnam, Sr.
Deborah had no children, but she loved and cared for her nieces and nephews almost as if they were her own. She loved animals and was actively involved in animal rescues, sometimes keeping the dogs and cats if no other home was found. Fiercely loyal to friends and loved ones, she would attend weddings, births of babies, and funerals in support of them. She touched so many lives with her love, grace, and pure unselfishness.
Deborah was predeceased by oldest brother Willis Edward Putnam, Jr. She is survived by brothers Robert Austin Putnam and Charles Dexter Putnam; cousins Barbara Greene Flick, Elizabeth Greene Yingst, and Laura Greene Kulecz; six nephews and nieces; Dexter, Austin, Christopher, and Emily Putnam; Robert and Stacey Putnam; and two grandnieces. Deborah donated her body for the study of her disease, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, as a way to continue to help others after her passing. A Celebration of Life service will be held in her honor at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 11, at 2:00, 2208 Main Street, Snellville, GA, 30078. Reception to follow. Donations may be made in her honor to Furkids, PAWSAtlanta, or any animal rescue and shelter of your choice.
