The happy smile that lives on.
Has taken a while for me to share my memories of Deb. Probably never got to know her as well as most of you. Met her here inLock Haven showing her houses. She became an instant friend. Always cheerful. Our craziest times usually involved some wine. Remember the night she saw spacecraft coming from the mountain across from her house, which I believe and still look for. Just wish I had gotten a chance to wish her goodby. Hope you all are doing well, and think of you often. Love Nancy Renninger

To Paul, and the kids, my deepest thoughts and wishes.  Deborah was a pleasure to know.  Sorry I never knew your kids.  Paul, I love you now, and have since I met you back at Bethel, from the depths of my heart.
Dear Austen and Haley, I’m so sorry to hear this news about your mum. Thinking of you both and your dad during this time.

Dear Paul and all the family,

It is with great sadness that I offer my deepest condolences.  Deb has been my close friend for over thirty years, ever since she started at Niagara University.

Quite honestly, I still can’t imagine a world without Deb in it.  She was the sunshine in so many of our lives, from close by or even across the ocean, sharing her love and light.  She will be forever missed.

Haley, I'm holding you close to my heart and sending love and light to your family <3
A video slide show featuring some of Deborah's incredible life full of love.
Deborah’s timeline highlights dedication, hard work, and devotion to the things she wanted to see happen. The achievements don’t go away, they live on in those that were touched by all she made happen.

When  we think of Deborah, two words immediately come to mind...   Light - her bright eyes & vibrancy always lit up the room   Hospitality - she beckoned and her door was always openWe had such happy visits together including Christmas 1996 when we and Paul's mother traveled to Rochester for the week.  A highlight was spending a day at Niagara Falls which was specially lit for the holidays.  There were many more enjoyable visits together where lively conversation and laughter would abound.
I was greatly saddened to hear the news of Deborah's passing.  My deepest condolences to your and your family,  Denise and I were so happy to have had a chance to connect with the two of you during our last visit to Australia, and we were surprised to learn that the two of you had a home in the same place in Rochester, on the Harbor, where Denise and I first lived.    Deborah was an incredible woman, with a smile that lit up a room.  Her deep and abiding love for you was plain for all to see.  She will be greatly missed, and our world is less bright with her passing, but her flame and memory remains alive in all of our hearts.

We love Deborah and incredibly saddened by this unexpected passing.  Decades of memories we'll keep in our hearts forever.  She was certainly a unique and a special friend who was very supportive and kind to us.  No words can ease the pain that the family is feeling but you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Deb was a colleague that I both respected and enjoyed. We laughed so much together! When she retired from Lock Haven, she gifted me with so many wonderful resources and books: she cared so much about continuing to help students here. I am so sorry that she didn't have more time with her beloved family.

  • So sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing. I have many memories of our high school experiences.  I too suffered through Fuzzy J and Mr. Ayer’s. We had some great times on the band trips especially  Europe.  We may have teased her occasionally about her braces but it was with love.
