Debbie's obituary

Deborah Ann “Debbie” Baker, 59, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Hockley, Texas. Born on August 18, 1965, in Mobile, Alabama, Debbie brought light and joy into the lives of all who knew her.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband and soul mate, Donald Baker. Their love story was one of deep connection and transformation—Debbie unlocked Don’s heart and taught him how to love again. She even taught him how to dance, a testament to the joy she brought into his life. She also leaves behind her beloved daughter Jennifer, whose recent graduation from Nursing School at UT Arlington filled Debbie with immense pride. Jennifer's roommate Tu also became a cherished bonus daughter to Debbie and Don. Her younger brother George Roberts continues to carry her legacy with strength and love.

Debbie graciously married into a pretty large family who welcomed her with open and loving arms. Debbie had two step sons and four grandchildren who made her world go round. Chad Baker, his wife Charli, and their girls Kenedy and Olivia. Dan Baker, his wife Tanisha, and their children Sophia and Wyatt. She loved to let them bake and craft with her, showing patience and love in every moment. She felt so very blessed to have gotten to spend time with Dan and his family in her final days.

She now joins in peace her cherished Aunt Triss (Patricia Masters), her grandparents Paw and Maw (Lon and Elizabeth Roberts), her mother in law Sylvia Speer, and her brother in law Ronnie Baker.

A woman of boundless energy and warmth, Debbie lived life to the fullest. She had a passion for Chili and Barbecue Cook Offs—her entries were always among the best—and she found great joy in deep sea fishing and vacationing with family and friends. Her generous spirit extended beyond her circle; she was deeply committed to giving back to her community and was a lifelong supporter of our troops.

Debbie’s Southern Baptist faith was a cornerstone of her life. It guided her actions and gave her strength through every chapter. Her vibrant personality lit up every room she entered—she loved endlessly, laughed freely, and embraced each moment with enthusiasm.

May Deborah Ann “Debbie” Baker’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of many.
