Debra's obituary
If you’re about to throw away that 20-year-old AOL CD from your junk drawer STOP!, clearly that could of been a windchime or a Christmas ornament! At least Deb thought so, much to the amusement of her husband Pat who now lives with approximately 347 Pinterest fails.
Debra Anne Householder passed away after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, July 16th at home surrounded by family. Deb was born to Bobby and Ida Hisel on February 26th, 1959, in Westby, WI. She grew up in Janesville and graduated from Parker High School in 1977. Deb retired from General Motors in 2016 after 33 years of service. She was proceeded in death by her father Bobby (Herbie) Hisel and is survived by her children Brianna (Seth) Doles, Nathan (Melissa) Householder, Aaron (Kate) Householder & Stepdaughters Danielle (Greg) Wasson, Angela (Adam) Bolin, and one son in outlaw Chris (Brandy) McGuire, her sisters Julie (John) Vrahnos, Sandy (Terry) Sperry and her loving mother Ida Hisel. Deb was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren; Brenna, Annabelle, and Teaghan (Dani Wasson), Alexandria, Aiden, and Ashton (Angela Bolin), Harper (Brianna Doles), Kyndal, Savanah, Hunter, and Olivia (Nathan Householder), Kayleigh, Elijah, Alexander, and Joel (Aaron Householder) who will miss their Grandma Blinky very much!
Deb married Patrick Byrne in 2001. They were married on Pat’s favorite holiday July 4th (so he would never forget their anniversary), so naturally Pat spent quite a few 4ths in a panic at the store buying anniversary cards. They spent the last 23 years learning to love what the other person loved, if Deb loved a food…Pat loved a food, if Pat loved a song…Deb loved a song. Pat and Deb were best friends, and truly enjoyed life together. Family, friends, traveling, concerts, pubs and of course the Packers were just the highlights of a life full of love and admiration for each other. It was easy to see from the outside they were a great pair.
Before Pat, Deb was married to Brad Householder for 14 years. One thing people always admired was the way that Brad, Deb and Pat were terrific co-parents along with Pat’s first wife, Teri. There is no greater gift that you can give your children than putting aside your egos and being a family for your kids. Because of this, their kids enjoyed many holidays, events and every day moments surrounded by so much love and family. They stayed great friends throughout the years.
Deb was most proud of her children and the beautiful lives they have made.
A celebration of life will be held for Deb at the UAW Local 2209 Union Hall in Roanoke, IN on Saturday July 30th at 4pm. There will also be a small celebration in honor of Deb in Janesville, WI the following weekend more details to follow.
