Deanna's obituary
In Loving Memory of Deanna Faye Hammond November 4, 1943 – July 9, 2025
Deanna Faye Hammond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully with family by her side in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Born in November 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, she was the daughter of Milo L. Lindquist and Mildred L. (Tex)Taylor. Deanna was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles L. Lindquist.
She shared 64 devoted years of marriage with her husband Ray, the love of her life. Together, they raised four children—Greg (Debbie) Hammond of Oregon, Kelly (Julie) Hammond of New Mexico, Reno (Cassie) Hammond and Lisa (Eric) Andrew of Oklahoma—and were blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who adored her.
Deanna is also survived by her loving sisters: Elsie StClair of Wyoming, Marjorie Harward of California, and Mindy Geis of Washington.
Deanna truly wore many hats and took on various jobs over the years, her greatest calling was always being a devoted ranch wife and mother—and her family adored her.
She was a true lady—graceful, and guided by a deep faith in God. Her sweet nature, warm smile, and playful sense of humor left an impression on everyone who knew her. She especially enjoyed harmless pranks that brought laughter to friends and family. She was sincere in her words and kindness to others, and welcomed everyone to her table, for a home cooked meal and one of her delicious pies for dessert.
She and Ray loved to attend rodeos and dances and lit up the room with their love and laughter.
And if you hear Johnny Cash or Elvis playing, you can be sure Deanna is smiling in heaven.
At 81 years of age, she was asked what she would change if given the chance to relive her life, Deanna answered with perfect contentment: “Not one thing. I loved my life on ranches with Ray and raising my family in the country.”
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the joy she shared. She will be deeply missed—and forever remembered.
