Dean was most appreciated in our church for helping to start an  after school program  for elementary students once a week.  We also enjoyed his informative sermons and Bible study.

I so remember Dean's smile and gracious manner - so welcoming and happy to see you. He had a good memory for names and stories - with Dean you were only a stranger once. He often paused to listen and affirm with genuine interest. I found him bringing justice and peace to the world he loved. 

I met Dean at Boston University in 1971. We shared a love of the Old Testament. We roomed together at Annual Conference and were in the same ordination class. Holding family and friends in prayer.

I extend my condolences to Dean Nosek’s much-loved family, friends, faith community, and the entire broader community, experiencing the touching loss of Dean. I share your loss as I remember so vividly the impact upon me that Dean made in our many visits and journeys together.  

Most importantly, Dean so generously shared a journey of faith; of modeling unfailing trust in God’s provident purpose; a silent, vulnerable acknowledgment of personal pain; and an awakening sense of reaching out decisively into the next chapters in both our lives.  

Dean was a reconciling spirit who brought a city girl like me into the country.  The true and proud son of educators, Dean piqued and encouraged a liking for Bible Study by immersing me in an open faith class at a local seminary.  He illuminated my interest in history, shared my love of languages and excited with his understanding of tennis.  His distinctive flair for gently driving home important points of faith with unflinching conviction will live on and continue to be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my steps.

A gentleman who harmoniously gave of his time and healing presence.  Dean will be forever and fondly remembered and missed.

Dear Family and Friends of Dean Nosek,

I write to extend sympathy to you on Dean’s death. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve and process his death.

Through this time of loss, I pray that some of the fonder memories of Dean and the support of others will give comfort.

Pastor Dean is my favorite pastor I've ever had (by quite a large margin, to be honest). I loved the way he approached bible stories we've heard time and time again for years from different angles. The congregation always learned something new every week, even the "church ladies," who have been regular church-goers for 70+ years. I'm sure throughout his life he's touched the lives of many people, through his unmatched storytelling and kindness. 

Michael, I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember how faithful he was as a volunteer in our classroom. I believe it was his effort to share his love of reading with you and your classmates. I remember your big smile, intelligence and wonderful sense of humor that was evident already in second grade.
