Dawson Henderson, more affectionately knew as Cookie, passed away on May 12, 2024. 

Born on September 24, 1943, Dawson lived a fulfilling life rich with experiences and precious moments with loved ones.

Dawson was a proud father who leaves behind his children , Angelette Kelly, Diane Jackson, Richard Kelly (Zena Kelly,spouse), Darell Kelly, Darlene Kelly, Tina Johnson (Ron Johnson), Paul Henderson, Natasha Henderson and Sean Henderson, to continue his legacy. His memory will be cherished by them, their families, and all who knew and loved him.

His memory will also be carried by his son Rodney Cole, his daughter Samantha Croskey, his son Robert Henderson, and Shawn Moss who predeceased him. His loss will be deeply felt, but his spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.

On November 13, 1967, Dawson bravely entered the service, Army, serving in Korea, until June 19, 1969. His dedication and service to his country were admirable and will be remembered with pride.

Throughout his life, Dawson had an eclectic taste in music, favoring artists as diverse as Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Tina Turner, 50 Cent, and LL Cool J. His love for music was only rivaled by his passion for sports, with the Buffalo Bills, the New York Yankees, and the LA Lakers, holding special places in his heart.

Dawson was an impeccable dresser, and anyone who knew him, knew he always came dressed to impress!!

He was a huge sports fan and loved playing Spades. He was also a food enthusiast, where his love for all foods was known, albeit with an aversion to pork. 

Although he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on through his passion and excitement during a game, the beat of his favorite songs, and the love shared amongst his family. He will be profoundly missed.
