Dawn's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dawn Hudson. Born on December 11, 1960, she departed this earthly life on March 10, 2024. Dawn was a woman of incredible strength, kindness and compassion, who left a lasting legacy of generosity and love.
Dawn was a cherished wife to John Hudson, and a loving mother to her daughters, Shawnda Grandstaff, Tawnya Hudson, and Rawnna Hudson. She was also blessed to enjoy her role as a grandmother, offering her love and wisdom to her grandson, Sebastian Ludwick. Dawn's family was the center of her world, and one of her greatest accomplishments was raising her three beautiful and kind daughters. She instilled in them not just values, but virtues of love, kindness, and generosity.
She was predeceased by her parents, Betty and Rufus Smith, and her brother, David Smith. Although they have left this world, their teachings and influence remain evident in the life that Dawn led and the legacy she leaves behind.
Dawn's life mantra was simple yet profound - "Happiness comes from helping others." This guiding principle of her life was reflected in every interaction she had, and the ripples of her kindness have touched the lives of many. Her legacy will forever be one of kindness and generosity, living on in the hearts and lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In honor of Dawn's life and legacy, a memorial fund has been established titled "Dawn Hudson Memorial". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to support this memorial at everloved.com/life-of/dawn-hu…. These contributions will help to further the causes close to Dawn's heart and continue her legacy of helping others.
As we mourn the loss of Dawn, we also celebrate her life and the love she shared with all of us. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live with kindness, generosity, and consideration for others. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives she has touched.
