Background
On March 10th, 2024 at 5:25pm, Dawn Hudson, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and friend passed away after a year-long battle with conditions leading to multiple organ failures. She fought a hard uphill battle. While waiting for an organ transplant, she took an unexpected turn this week, and despite extensive medical interventions, she passed away yesterday evening.
This is a rather sudden loss that has come with extensive medical bills on top of memorial expenses. The Hudson family has always been so generous in their support of their community. It would be a blessing to be able to give back to Dawn and her family, in light of her passing. As anyone who has ever lost a loved one knows, any support is greatly appreciated, whether it is financial, spiritual, or emotional. Please consider donating and/or sharing to help support John, Shawnda, Tawnya, and Rawnna, so that they can provide a memorial as beautiful as Dawn, inside and out.
Dawn spent her last moments surrounded by her husband, John, daughters, Shawnda, Tawnya, and Rawnna, her aunt and cousins. She was with the most important people in her life, and she did not enter into Heaven and leave this world alone. She is now reunited with her mother Betty, her father Rufus, and her brother David along with so many more friends and relatives she has lost over the years.
Dawn meant so much to so many people, and she was as altruistic as they come. She put her family, friends, and others ahead of herself and played an important role in the lives of many children in the San Lorenzo community. She dedicated much of her life to the children of Del Rey Elementary, Bohannon Middle School, and Arroyo High School. She was an active supporter of the band, choir, and color guard programs. She gave endlessly as a support system for these teams as well as all the children who funneled through these programs for years.
She loved all things animals, her friends, her family, her husband, and her three beautiful daughters — they were her entire world and she was their biggest cheerleader and supporter. Her family has always known her support, and at this time it is a struggle to process what comes next.
Dawn never wanted to say goodbye, so with her passing we will forever say, “Night night.”
