I will always remember Dawn as the little girl trailing after the teenagers as we tried to be the cool cousins. After years of family distance, it really saddens me that I will not get the chance to better know the beautiful, caring and intelligent woman she became.
Dawn has been such a light in the work of helping people whose lives have been harmed by violence and abuse.  Her bright spirit, friendly smile, and strength to stand with and up for people have meant so much to so many people.  Myself included.  I will miss her and will carry my memories of her in my work with survivors and programs.

I miss you more than I know how to put into words my love, everyday is a struggle but I know you would want me to pull my head out of my butt and carry on.  I thought I would share a story about how we met babe.

Dawn and me met believe it or not on a dating app “Plenty of Fish”….2012 I had just moved to Washington State and was very lost thought that I would maybe try play the dating game as this was even a challenge as some of you know…(Computers Suck in my world)….threw out a line and definitely released a few fish as “oh my goodness “ I was thinking to myself this is not happening….I will never forget the morning the woke up and saw I had a notification so of course I go to look and I will never forget the day I saw Dawns picture for the first time….I was “Hooked” so to speak, I knew in that moment that this was going to be my “Lucky Day” and I knew this was going to be a “a keeper”. I just knew it!  I reached out touched base this was September 2012, our first date and what would end up being our Anniversary was on November 3 which of course our first date we walked around downtown and our first stop….the pet store!

Long story short Dawn has gotten me a couple shirts which mean everything to me….they simply say “My Lucky Shirt”

I god I love you baby and miss you so much❤️❤️

💜 A Lifeline and a Friend

Dawn’s impact was felt not only in her professional achievements but in the relationships she nurtured. “My heart literally aches from the loss of my dear friend and colleague, Dawn Brumfield,” shared Debbie Brockman. “She was my lifeline on bad days, and the first person I called when something good or funny happened. Dawn and I became fast friends the first time we met. She was kind, funny, loyal, mischievous, and I am blessed to have had her in my life. Our strengths complemented each other and we were both better at our jobs because of it. Though Dawn is gone from this world, she will forever be in my heart”

“Dawn was the heart of Aspen,” said Greg Aubol. “Her strength, humor, and dedication inspired everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to guide and uplift us”.

Dawn’s work with Aspen Victim Services was marked by her unwavering dedication to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She led outreach efforts, coordinated community events, and mentored staff with grace and precision.
